Stathis Alexopoulos GR, b. 1976
"Making art for extraordinairy people..."
Stathis Alexopoulos
Stathis Alexopoulos (1976, Athens) uses his sculptural technique to shape the link between past and present. His attempt to bring time and art together manifests itself in the so-called ‘hubs’ in his work: belts and stripes in an infinite embrace.
Modern aesthetics or the values of classical sculpture: if you ask Stathis, there is no reason to choose. Naturally, he draws on both. Driven by his belief that form is capable of transforming the meaning and mission of art, Stathis always strives to redefine form and freeze it in time.
Stathis' talent has not gone unnoticed. His sculpture has been featured in numerous exhibitions and he has received multiple awards for his sculpture both in Greece and internationally. His work can be found in the art shops of major museums, in galleries, in the personal collections of art lovers as well as enriching the streetscape of major municipalities at home and abroad. Stathis also works with large corporate companies to creatively promote their campaigns.
Stathis studied sculpture at the School of Fine Arts in Tinos and at the Fine Art School of Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, where he graduated ‘with distinction’. After his studies, he returned to his native Athens, where he still lives and works.
