Biography

"Why being creative works best when you're together."

Main Artists, creator of remarkable steel wall sculptures, consists of the artist duo Marjon Deul (born 1966 in Noordwijkerhout) and Ien Sluyters (born 1973 in Berkel-Enschot). They combine their creative talents to transform, seemingly without effort, portraits of people and animals, as well as complete life stories, into rugged steel sculptures. In a joint flow of designing, bending, and welding, Marjon and Ien experience the boundless possibilities of steel.

And while Main Artists' relationship with steel is profound, it's certainly not exclusive: the duo also pioneered a series of small sculptures made of biodegradable plastic (PLA), which they produced with a 3D printer. These sculptures are presented on a steel base, in a gift box accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

Marjon and Ien work together as well as individually, freely and on commission. Both completed their studies in Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Arendonk, Belgium.
