"I find it thrilling to transform a cold material into a magnificent sculpture that radiates speed."
Antoine Dufilho (1982, Saint Quentin) is convinced that by being aware of one's roots, a person can grow. In his work, he demonstrates roots that are embedded in both art and medicine. His uncle, a versatile artist, introduced him to the artistic potential of plastic, while his medical studies provided him with a unique opportunity to study the workings of the human body in detail. He did this for three years, until his creativity overwhelmed him so much that he decided he needed to take a different path.
This led him to the Lille School of Architecture and Landscape, where he discovered a new approach to sculpting. Antoine is fascinated by the strength of frameworks and how they bring lightness and dynamism to the overall shape. In terms of art, Antoine is self-taught. He experiments with various techniques such as casting and welding. Step by step, he has built a completely unique style that is now gaining international recognition. He exhibits in galleries in Paris, Antwerp, Geneva, Taipei, Los Angeles, and Miami. His studio was constructed using sea containers in the countryside near Lille. Here he creates all of his works.
